How involved is the landowner in the development process of a wind or solar farm or battery storage system?

Our team collaborate closely with the landowner at every step of each project, from site identification and feasibility studies, through to planning, finance, design, construction, and grid connection.

Are solar or wind farms and battery storage systems temporary developments?

Yes, these are typically classified as temporary structures. Meaning that any planning conditions on any planning permission can be used by the Local Planning Authority (LPA) to make sure they are removed when no longer in use.

Are solar or wind farms and battery storage systems noisy?

No, they will not be noisy. A project specific Noise Impact Assessment (NIA) will be conducted as part of the planning application process to evaluate the likely impact associated with any proposed solar or wind farm or battery storage system.

Why install a solar or wind farm or battery storage system on a greenfield site?

While we do consider brownfield sites, many are not available for development or are not suitably located for connection of a renewable energy project into the grid.

What are battery energy storage systems (BESS)?

Battery energy storage systems (BESS) are devices than enable energy produced by renewables such as solar or wind to be stored and then released into the grid when power is needed the most. Battery storage technology ensures that homes and businesses can be powered by green energy, even when the wind is not blowing, or the sun is not shining.

Can I still operate my farming and other businesses on my land?

Yes, developing a solar, wind or battery storage facility on your land will not change the land classification. It is simply part of a temporary farm diversification strategy.

How will a wind or solar farm or battery storage system impact local wildlife and biodiversity?

Our team will carry out a full environmental impact assessment for every renewable energy project we undertake. And we ensure that every development leaves a positive, long-term ecological footprint.
