Q

What has been the biggest challenge for you at Queequeg?

A
Upon joining Queequeg, I quickly realised that I need to adapt my way to suit the company dynamics and the phase of the projects. Which meant that I had to unlearn some of my go-to practices and pick up new ones. Which was an incredibly challenging but, in retrospect, a hugely rewarding process.
Q

What drew you to work in the renewable energy industry?

A
This is not an easy question for me to answer succinctly! I have cared for the environment as long as I can remember. From a very early age I knew that I wanted to be an engineer and to work in sustainability. And, as I grew up in the Middle East, I originally found it challenging to find a role in renewables after graduation. But I worked hard, gained as many transferable skills as I could, got a master’s degree in renewables, and found myself a position as an intern in the renewable energy branch of the company I was working for in the UK. One of my proudest moments was being recognised as ‘Project Manager of the Year’ and listed in Renewable Energy World’s ‘Solar 40 Under 40’.
Q

What do you enjoy most about working at Queequeq?

A
Queequeg has enabled me to progress my career, becoming a consultancy manager leading project teams and working closely with clients as a technical advisor as well as a business developer. I really enjoy the can-do attitude adopted by everyone at Queequeg and the real team spirit in achieving goals My personality and working style fit perfectly in such an environment.
